About the brand

Ecoalf was founded in 2009 by Javier Goyeneche, who serves as its president. The name was created from the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro.

The Ecoalf Foundation was established in 2015 to support the Upcycling the Oceans project, which transforms collected ocean waste into yarns and fabrics. The brand also assesses the carbon footprint of individual products using the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology.

In March 2018, Ecoalf became a certified B Corporation and the first Spanish fashion company to achieve B Corp certification. At its third certification in 2025, it achieved a score of 122.7 points.
