About the Brand

Ecoalf was founded in 2009 by Javier Goyeneche, who also serves as the brand's president. The name was created from the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The founding goal was to create recycled products with quality and design comparable to those made from non-recycled materials.

The first collection and flagship store in Madrid were launched in 2012 after three years of research and development. In 2015, the Ecoalf Foundation was established to support the Upcycling the Oceans project, which collaborates with the fishing industry to collect ocean waste and transform it into yarns and textiles.

Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corp certification in 2018. In 2022, it received the B Corp Best for the World award, placing it among the top 5% of companies in the environmental category. It completed its third B Corp certification in 2025 with a score of 122.7 points. Its materials strategy focuses on recycled sources, reducing the consumption of natural raw materials, quality and timeless design.
