About the Brand

Ecoalf was founded in 2009 by Javier Goyeneche, who was inspired to create the brand's name and concept by the birth of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The original vision was to reduce the unsustainable use of natural resources and to create recycled products with quality and design comparable to those made from new materials. The first collection was launched in 2012 after three years of research and development.

The brand uses waste materials in its textile production, such as plastic bottles, discarded fishing nets and tyres. Its manufacturing processes focus on reducing water, energy and chemical consumption. In 2015, the Ecoalf Foundation was established to support the Upcycling the Oceans project, which works with the fishing industry to collect marine waste and transform it into yarns and textiles.

In 2018, the brand became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corporation certification. This certification evaluates social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability.
