About the brand

Ecoalf was founded in 2009 by Javier Goyeneche, who also serves as its president. The name was created from the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. After three years of research and development, the brand launched its first collection in 2012 and opened its first flagship store in Madrid.

The Ecoalf Foundation has been operating since 2015. It supports the Upcycling the Oceans project, which works with the fishing industry to collect ocean waste and transform it into yarns and textiles. Ecoalf states that it has developed more than 400 recycled fabrics.

In 2018, Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corp certification. In 2025, the brand successfully completed its third B Corp certification with a score of 122.7 points. Since 2019, it has also been certified as PETA Vegan and has received the PETA Vegan Fashion Award.

Ecoalf thus combines the development of recycled fabrics with long-term projects and verified standards.
