About the brand

Ecoalf was founded by Javier Goyeneche in 2009 with the aim of reducing the harmful use of natural resources through high-quality recycled products. The brand's name was inspired by the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. After three years of research and development, the brand launched its first clothing collection in 2012 and opened its first flagship store in Madrid.

In 2015, the Ecoalf Foundation was established to support the Upcycling the Oceans project. Working in collaboration with the fishing industry, it collects marine waste and converts it into yarns and textiles. Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corp certification in 2018, and in 2025 completed its third certification with a score of 122.7 points. Since 2019, it has also been a PETA Vegan certified brand and has received the PETA Vegan Fashion Award. Ecoalf also holds certification under the Global Recycled Standard.
