About the Brand

Ecoalf was founded by Javier Goyeneche in 2009. The brand name is derived from the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. After three years of research and development, the first collection and the first flagship store in Madrid were launched in 2012.

In 2015, the Ecoalf Foundation was established to support the Upcycling the Oceans project. This initiative focuses on cleaning the oceans, repurposing collected marine waste, and raising awareness about pollution. Ecoalf has held B Corp certification since March 2018, becoming the first Spanish fashion company to receive this certification in the same year. The brand is also certified under the Global Recycled Standard.

Ecoalf combines material development with long-term support for a project that works with collected waste from the oceans.
