About the Brand

Ecoalf was founded in 2009 by Javier Goyeneche, its founder and president. The name and concept were inspired by the birth of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The original vision was to reduce the wasteful use of natural resources and to create recycled products with quality and design comparable to those made from non-recycled materials.

The first collection was launched in 2012 after three years of research and development. That same year, the brand opened its first flagship store in Madrid. The Ecoalf Foundation was established in 2015 to support the Upcycling the Oceans project, which works with the fishing industry to collect marine waste and transform it into yarns and textiles.

In 2018, Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corp certification. In 2022, it received Best for the World recognition, placing it among the top 5% of companies in the environmental category. It underwent its third B Corp certification in 2025 with a score of 122.7 points.
