About the brand

Ecoalf was founded by Javier Goyeneche in 2009. The brand name is connected to the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The original vision was to reduce the wasteful use of natural resources and to create recycled products comparable in quality and design to non-recycled ones. The first collection and flagship store in Madrid followed in 2012 after three years of research and development.

The brand transforms waste such as plastic bottles, discarded fishing nets and tyres into textile materials. The Ecoalf Foundation was established in 2015 to support the Upcycling the Oceans project. In 2018, Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corporation certification, and in 2022 it ranked among the B Corp Best for the World in the top 5% of the environmental category.

Ecoalf combines clothing production with the use of recycled materials and practices aimed at reducing the consumption of water, energy and chemicals.
