About the Brand

Ecoalf was founded in 2009 by Javier Goyeneche, who serves as its president. The brand's name and concept were inspired by the names of the founder's sons, Alfred and Álvaro. The original vision was to reduce the wasteful consumption of natural resources and to create recycled products with quality and design comparable to non-recycled ones.

The first Ecoalf collection was launched in 2012 after three years of research and development, alongside the first flagship store in Madrid. In 2015, the Ecoalf Foundation was established to support the Upcycling the Oceans project, which collects ocean waste and transforms it into yarns and textiles.

In 2018, Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corporation certification. The following year, it obtained PETA Vegan certification and the PETA Vegan Fashion Award. In 2022, it was listed among B Corp Best for the World and ranked in the top 5% of companies in the environmental category. At its third B Corp certification in 2025, it achieved a score of 122.7 points.
