About the brand

Ecoalf was founded by Javier Goyeneche in 2009. Its name was inspired by the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The original vision was to reduce the reckless consumption of natural resources and to create recycled products comparable in quality and design to non-recycled ones. The first clothing collection was created in 2012, along with the first flagship store in Madrid.

In 2015, the Ecoalf Foundation was established to support the Upcycling the Oceans project, which collects marine waste and transforms it into yarn and textiles. Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corporation certification in 2018. In 2022, it received the "Best for the World" award from B Corp, placing it among the top 5% of companies in the environmental category.

The brand also holds the Global Recycled Standard certification. Since 2019, it has been certified as PETA Vegan and does not use real fur, leather, or silk in its collections.
