About the brand

Ecoalf is a Spanish brand founded in 2009 by its current president Javier Goyeneche. The brand's name and concept were inspired by the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro.

Ecoalf's original vision was to reduce the wasteful use of natural resources and to produce recycled products comparable in quality and design to non-recycled ones. The brand launched its first collection and flagship store in Madrid in 2012, following three years of research and development.

In 2015, the Ecoalf Foundation was established to support the Upcycling the Oceans project. This initiative works with the fishing industry to collect ocean waste and transform it into yarns and textiles. Ecoalf is also certified under the Global Recycled Standard.
