About the Brand

Ecoalf was founded by Javier Goyeneche in 2009, with the name derived from the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The original goal was to create recycled products with comparable quality and design to non-recycled ones. After three years of research and development, the first collection and the first flagship store in Madrid were launched in 2012.

In 2015, the Ecoalf Foundation was established to support the Upcycling the Oceans project. The brand became the first fashion company from Spain to receive B Corporation certification in 2018. A year later, it obtained PETA Vegan certification and the PETA Vegan Fashion Award. In 2022, B Corp ranked it among Best for the World, placing it in the top 5% in the environmental category.
