About the Brand

Ecoalf was founded in 2009 by Javier Goyeneche, who is also the brand's president. Its name and concept were inspired by the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The first collection was created after three years of research and development and was launched in 2012 together with the first flagship store in Madrid.

Ecoalf's original vision was to reduce the unsustainable extraction of natural resources and to create recycled products with quality and design comparable to non-recycled goods. The brand considers quality, functionality and timeless design as means of extending the lifespan of products, and assesses the carbon footprint of individual products using life cycle assessment.

In 2018, Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corp certification. In 2022, it received the B Corp Best for the World award, placing it among the top 5% of assessed companies in the environmental category. It completed its third B Corp certification in 2025 with a score of 122.7 points.
