About the Brand

Ecoalf was founded in 2009. Its founder and president is Javier Goyeneche, who created the brand name by combining the names of his sons Alfred and Álvaro. The goal was to develop recycled products with quality and design comparable to those made from non-recycled materials. The first collection was launched in 2012 after three years of research and development, along with the first store in Madrid.

In 2015, the Ecoalf Foundation was established to support the Upcycling the Oceans project. The project works with the fishing industry to collect marine waste and convert it into yarns and fabrics. In 2018, Ecoalf became the first Spanish fashion company to receive B Corp certification. In 2022, it was included in B Corp Best for the World and ranked among the top 5% in the environmental category.

The brand bases its product design on quality, functionality and timelessness, with the aim of promoting long product lifespans. Since 2021, it has been producing sweatshirts from a blend of 50% recycled and 50% organic cotton, using textile offcuts as the input material for the recycled cotton.
