About the Brand

LEGO Group was founded by Ole Kirk Kristiansen in 1932. The name LEGO is derived from the Danish phrase "leg godt", meaning "play well". The private company is headquartered in Billund, Denmark, remains owned by the Kirk Kristiansen family, and introduced the current form of the brick with its tube-based interlocking principle in 1958.

The set thus builds on a brand whose distinctive brick-connecting system has been in its established form since 1958.
