The Daniel Hechter brand was founded by Daniel Hechter in Paris in 1962, when he also presented his first women's collection. It was among the pioneers of French prêt-à-porter ready-to-wear fashion. A children's collection followed in 1965, and a men's collection was launched in 1968.
