Product description Endles by Econea Binchotan stick - activated charcoal for natural water filtration
Charcoal is no longer just for naughty children! The binchotan stick is actually a reward. In Japan, this charcoal has been used for natural water purification for several hundred years. It reduces the amount of chlorine, neutralizes electromagnetic waves, adds minerals to the water, and balances pH.
And you'll notice the difference in taste too. The stick will enhance your drinking experience for about half a year. Afterwards, you can use it to nourish your plants or as an odor absorber.
Usage:
How to use binchotan?
-
Before first use, the manufacturer recommends boiling the stick for hygiene reasons.
-
Place the stick in a liter of drinking water, ideally in a glass carafe or bottle.
-
The water will start becoming cleaner after just one hour, but the best effect is achieved after several hours, ideally leaving the stick in the water overnight. We recommend leaving the stick in the bottle and topping up the water regularly - that's how we do it ourselves.
-
Binchotan reduces the amount of chlorine in the water, adds minerals, and gives it a gently sweet taste.
-
After 4-6 months, it is advisable to replace the binchotan with a new one.
The best filtration effect is achieved after several hours (ideally overnight). However, tests have shown that after just one hour, the water is largely filtered. We recommend leaving the stick in the bottle and simply topping up the water regularly - that's how we do it ourselves.
What to do with binchotan once it's used up?
-
Put it in the fridge, shoe rack, or cat litter box. Binchotan can absorb unpleasant odors.
-
Use it as plant fertilizer. Binchotan improves soil quality and helps plants grow faster.
-
Put it in your shoes. The stick will help absorb excess moisture and unpleasant odors.
What is binchotan?
Binchotan, also known as activated charcoal, has been used in Japan as a traditional method for natural and healthy water filtration since the 17th century.
- It binds impurities, chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, surfactants, and petroleum substances.
- It enriches water with minerals (such as calcium, magnesium, or potassium).
- And it improves taste. Particles responsible for unpleasant tastes and odors in the water are captured on its surface. From our own experience, we can confirm that the water then tastes truly great!
P.S. However, it is not sufficient to purify water of all substances. Binchotan or activated charcoal is not able to filter out nitrates, certain types of bacteria, or dissolved minerals from water. For more advanced water filtration, other approaches are available, such as a reverse osmosis system.
